Hello from Gaia, Portugal

Hi there, my name is João Carneiro, roughly translated to english to suite the forum's inability to cope with the tilde, lol.

I live in a beautiful country, and have been actively pursuing a simple life. Love to build and learn.

I'm currently molding the space around my house(1300m2) in a more clean and self-sufficient way. In that path a couple of years ago i discovered a word: bushcraft that has sent me on another adventure: permaculture, and it seems to be something older dressed as something new I like it, and this forum rocks! It covers all sorts of interesting things, and is even much more into my interests than bushcraft ever was.

So i will be coming around a lot studying and presenting some projects as i go along. If there are any portuguese speakers around i can point them to alternative sources for most of the contents on those projects probably on the local bushcraft comunity forum.

Feel free to PM me or inquire directly on the topic.

John,
Welcome to permies. Spent a lot of time in Portugal myself and LOVE the country. Wanted to live there, but my husband (Portuguese) did not. I should have left him then and gone to live with his parents. I love the people, the climate, the soil, the plants and just everything about it, also the great availability of all types of fresh seafood. I think I just really fit in with people living simply on the land, helping one another with the farming, sustainable living, etc.

Best wishes for success in all your endeavors.
