Looking for a good woman to join in Caribbean island homestead

Hi.  In a nutshell...
I live on a tropical island in the Caribbean. My own island. Well, I have a few. I'm homesteading here. ...built a house, and some boats, growing food, solar power, collect rain water, etc.
I'm doing this because it's amazing, and because I have a strong aversion to the society in North America where I grew up. I was extremely happy to be here before the pandemic hit.

I think and plan long term. ...in my life in general, and in relationships.  I'm looking for someone who wants to be part of something. ...who wants to work with me to make our lives amazing. Amazing, and largely insulated from the financial/environmental disasters that are getting worse every year. So, ya... I think people in general make too much garbage, and waste too much time, and make too many stupid decisions based on greed and selfishness.

I like people around me to be happy and will go out of my way for people, but I also have a strong moral code and won't agree with someone just to make them happy. ...and don't push me. I push back.

I take care of my health, and love to create. ...draw, build machines, write, etc. I'm also extremely responsible and dependable, but also have a bit of a silly sense of humour, so... yes. Dad jokes. ....and fart jokes. ...and on odd occasions when I do something particularly spectacular I may run around with my hands above my head screaming, "I am the Champion of the Universe!" Don't worry, though. I do it in a super cool way. Like... super cool. ...and possibly naked.

I have a youtube channel where I promote free thinking and morals, and things that I think the world needs. The videos also happen to be my main income. People always get the wrong impression of me from my videos. I'm hyperactive and super expressive in them. In real life I'm much calmer and contemplative. ...those things just don't make for good video. JMEMantzel on youtube.

I also have kids. They're really cool. Their mother and I live on neighboring islands and co-parent.

OK, I think that's a good start.

Jaimie
PS.  I'm also working on growing the local community of cool people, so if you aren't a nice girl who wants to kiss me, feel free to write something anyway.  I'm always looking for new cool neighbors who want to live in a beautiful place and get a little local help.

Here are a few pictures..

Haha, awesome. If I were anywhere near the Caribbean Islands (or in a phase of my life where I could be) I would definitely wanna say hey and check out your projects and the community you are working on. Good luck!

Thanks!  Most things are going very well.  Of course building a community takes a lot of luck.  Mostly in finding the right people.

Well, does your wife have a sister?  Ha.
Oh, Veggies.  Yeah, I need to work on my soil a bunch before I get decent veggies going.  Katuk, Oregano, beans and a few things like that grow well in almost solid clay, but peppers and tomatoes, potatoes.... I'll have to fix my soil.  I'm composting into raised beds with charcoal and just organic garbage and am starting to see some results.  Now I can start to make that more widespread and really get things going.  it does take time, though, and I'm also building a bridge, and a lumber mill, and a guest house, and the list goes on.  ...one of the reasons I need a partner!    Some help in any of those things would be excellent.  Heck, even someone around to get dinner started cooking so i can work an extra hour every day would be amazing.  ...although I do love to cook.  Someone also mentioned that I should have put in my post that I want children.  Anyway, going off on a bit of a tangent here.  Time to get to work!

Your own island(s)..far away from this chaos and nonsense..growing your own food and being self sufficient..sounds like a dream! If this train wreck doesn’t adjust course, once I have a passport we might be fleeing to Belize or your way to help build a dope community!
I do have a sister, but sadly she’s fallen for the sheep mentality..and has been insisting on moving to NY for the last 3 years even though nothing is lining up and the universe is clearing telling her this isn’t her path…I think the only thing she’ll have in common is her love for kids, which could be a start! if she were more open minded..

Also, have you tried growing air potatoes?!🤯

Woah! Woah! Woah!  Hey now... Air potatoes....?  What is this mysterious thing?  Ok, I need to look those up tonight.
Sounds like your sister is in the same boat as my siblings.
Yes.  My own islands away from the nonsense.  It is pretty awesome.  I'm down in Panama.  If you guys are serious about moving down this way and might want to have some cool creative neighbor we should talk.  I have a friend staying on one of my islands right now.  He's looking for land to buy.  ...and another family indefinitely renting a little house from me for almost nothing.   theadventurebuildermovie@gmail.com just in case.

She does... but they are "night-and-day"... if Night was also delusional and had a grandiose dream of moving to NYC... I'll keep my eyes out for ya man, but I would never "hook" anybody up with, quite literally, the opposite of a Permie

...I guess it would help if I read all responses before responding..

I live in Florida but this is my absolute dream.

The Caribbean is paradise, we just have to deal with gigantic hurricanes and potentially rising sea levels. I will take those odds for the fruit. Do you have any suggestions on a dude without much savings looking to move ASAP?

Well, depends what not much savings is.  For some people that means debt, for others it means like only 50k, or something.
Nice thing about Panama.  No hurricanes.  That was one of the big points I liked about this place.  Hmm... being in Florida you could pick up a sailboat really cheap.  Sail it down, and you've got a floating home.  It makes it a lot easier to buy remote cheap land then.  I guess your health also makes a difference.  The more you can do yourself the less you pay for.  I just built a 4 story concrete house for a few thousand dollars.  ....and a ton of manual labour.  Good exercise if you can do it.

Your life sounds amazing! Nice to read these post, I did off grid years ago and was in heaven. I haven’t given up giving it another try but this time with the right person.

I am definitely enjoying living off grid.  It's amazing waking up and working for myself to make life better rather than working like a slave to make someone else rich.  Finding a good partner has proven challenging.  A lot of women seem interested, and even talk about wanting to do exactly what I'm doing.  ...but when it becomes a reality they don't take the step.  Heck, I've found the same thing with people in general.  Before I moved off grid I had a lot of friends who were "planning to join me".  ...except when it came to reality.  None of them took any real steps to make it happen.
I have one good friend here who I'd say is all in.  ...then a few others who are half way.

Hi, Jaimie

I’ve watched some of your video and think you are an awesome person. I know you said you’re deleting your account, but I hope this reaches you somehow. Don’t give up. Be the change. I would love to sponsor a real-life, in-person permie camp for singles to meet and learn, but I don’t have property. I wouldn’t have a problem promoting it, but the physical place is an issue.  I don’t like online dating and hate the dating sites, but stay online here to learn and network. You have so much to offer people.

Hi Jamie
Wow your world sounds and looks awesome! All us single permie gals up here in BC Canada are swooning as we shovel the last of the snow off our cold beds. I wonder about visas etc for a stay in Panama as I entertain what a trip down would entail. I'll check into the deets and keep working on how to make the fantasy real.
Thanks for the vision and best wishes, Michelle

That's pretty cool I wish you the best of luck, I've been trying to do kind of the same concept in the 48, not on an island but remote enough most people feel they might as well be on an island. To be a little more precise I have 140 acres about 1-1/2 hours drive to anything in NM and about 3 hours from everything else, LOL. I hope you don't run into the same nightmares that I have with the people that seem knowledgeable enough, I'd like to think I'm a decent judge of character but all I can say so far is WOW! I am a pretty laid back and easy going person but trying to find people who grasp the actual concept of living of grid is... well, tough. The stories I could tell. I purchased my property almost 4 years ago and I'm now 8 years behind on vital projects, others say they see the changes but I am my toughest critic and I can't see it. I look forward to hearing about updates and photos.

I have to say I am wholly impressed. As a woman born and raised in the Caribbean, it is amazing to find someone nurturing and cultivating the land as my ancestors once had!

On the other hand, as someone who also spent my a lot of my time living in America, I respect what you’re doing beyond my 23 years of knowledge! I’ve wanted nothing more than to find a partner and do exactly what you have accomplished. I would love to chat with you more, but if not, know you have a faraway admirer!
