Please add your location and zone

It would make it a lot easier to respond to posts if folks would add their general location and usda zone to their profile.    Its easy, go to modify profile then add your location etc in the personal text spot. 

In other words,  "Where you from?"

I did but it didn't show up next to my posts.
I copied the info as the "comment" and now it's there. 

I was going to start this in a new topic then I realised one was already created.

I thought I would write a detailed instruction on how to set your climate and/or location, as it is often helpful to be able to see a poster's climate when they are asking specific questions.

1. Make sure you are logged in.  Click the Profile button in the top right of the screen.
2. Select 'Forum Profile Information' on the left menu
3. Enter your climate and/or location in the 'Personal Text' field.  I suggest entering your location and then your climate in brackets.

While you're in the account settings, you might want to consider changing your display name to your real name (or part thereof).  See Paul's request here:

New instructions for the new forums!

1. Click 'My Profile' @ top of screen
2. Expand 'General information about yourself' section
3. Enter your location and climate in the 'location' field
4. Enter the word shown in the image at the bottom of the settings screen
5. Click submit!

Other permies can be much more helpful if they have some idea of your geography/climate/rainfall/soil etc.
I basically ignore 'climate zones': I'm not in part of the world that uses them, and they seem to shift yearly these days anyway...
