I have never grown comfry but after reading this I think I will give it a try.

I did that once because I thought the same thing.  Soil in the woods was better. It worked well for me, but I was only planting in a planter not a whole garden so I didn't have to take as much. It is better and yes if you dont destroy your whole woods trying to get the "good stuff" out.  Its  rich and just as good as any top soil or maybe even compost for that matter.

I have experimented with the ruth stout method you can see in a video I did on my potato garden here ruth stout potato garden.  I was not happy with the results.  Maybe I did it wrong.  I did not water it much so that I could experiment how well it would grow with absolutely no care just more layering.  I posted a results video on my channel you can see if you look around.  I would defiantly combine methods.  You know best your situation so I think you have a good plan.

I have one currently. Installed it this summer.  Ran amazing for air conditioner all summer and hardly noticed any draw on the solar panels.  Tried to use it for heating, but in my area to many gray days......so most of the time its off and am using the wood stove, but when the sun is out it is still working even though its gotten in the negatives this winter.  I have a 1300 sq ft house.  I would say it keeps half of it warm.  Here is a video of when we ran it in the summer time and I have an instal/update video on my channel if you want to see how it looks.

You can grow so many plants from cuttings from cilantro to lemon trees.   Here is a few video ideas to get you thinking. What else can we grow from cuttings.

I love Kiwi. Never tried to grow it, but after reading how you guys are doing maybe I will give it a try!
