E-cloth's kitchen cloth has served me well. They are very durable, washable and can be used without soap. They have a little scrubbing pocket as well for the harder stuff. The same company also manufactures scrub sponges and plain dishcloths.  I, too, enjoy using scrub sponges but upon taking stock of how many I go through I am making a conscious effort to not buy any more when this pack runs out.

The Cascadia Grains Conference returns to Olympia on the 6th and 7th of January. I attended last year just to see what it was about and I gained quite a bit of knowledge on varieties suited to our climate as well as an understanding of the challenges Quinoa growers were facing in South America. I also participated in baking classes led by persons from Essential Baking Co, Tabor Bread and OSU. Now that I have a little more background knowledge, I believe I will be able to gain more from this event and perhaps be inspired include grains in my edible landscape. I haven't personally seen it but I think it could be mycoplasma. I would add garlic to the feed or water as possible treatment.

This was my first Convergence and it was an amazing experience. I look forward to applying my newfound knowledge and making some more connections through people I met over the weekend.
