I quit using shampoo and store bought soap a year ago I bathe everyday with warm water and sand. I keep the sand in a five gallon bucket. I take my wash cloth and grab a chunk of sand and just scrub really good my hair and body. I had went a few months without seeing anybody when I started this regimine. And my mother who could always tell when I skipped a shower. Did nothing but compliment me for months on my hair quality and skin healthiness.I have been experimenting wiith adding crushed mint leaves and a little cinnamon to my sand and my wife loves my odor but I cant convince her to go all natural cleaning products she claims to many years of use and that her needs cant be met my way I do use orange goop to remove oil and grease when i work on mechanical things. I did notice at first I was greasy  feeling often but not anymore that lasted about six weeks. It used to seem like everytime I got out of the shower I had acne but not anymore but I should note I also quit shaving and using aftershave and most of my acne may have been shaving related

you would probably want to do the wall with polybags being as the cob adobe would absorb some moisture with out some form of barrier and if it absorbs moisture than you have the potential for mold you can always do a composite build i was thinking that on my build which is a vertical wall inground with masonry piers for the structural strength and to support the roof beams i would overlap a sheet of poly every 48 inch as an additional moisture barrier

Hey me and my wife may be interested  but we were curious as to local building laws and what amount of money we would need to get started there we are in illinois in our early 30s no kids yet and we have an rv currently we own our house but we are trying to get out of the chicago area I have a construction company and she is in medical
Have you thought about I.C. living they are usually in areas that allow you to do all of the things you are looking to do and it would then put you in a small community that is living a  very similair lifestyle as you with a minimal output of cash

So my wife and I are tired of living in suburbia. We both have rural roots and want to raise our future kids in an I.C. where we feel the kids will be more well rounded and better prepared for the world than what we see of the youth in our cities. I have been looking to like 40acres somewhere west of Iowa as I have been finding cheapland out there I got an rv and we plan on staying in that while we work on an eco-friendly home . We are potentially looking for people to buy land with using the T.I.C. methods. But we dont need anyone elses income to do this we think it would be almost as easy to build two at once being as i plan on renting a backho for digging out the foundations
