Dear all,
I am starting a permaculture farm in Mali 40 km away from the capital city Bamako.
The raining season starts in June and this year I intend to do some swales, plant a living fence, and do some alley intercropping with nitrogen fixing trees.
My first cash crop will be Moringa Oleifeira leaves.
However I'd like to diversify my revenues at some point and I have considered a few options that could possibly have a market in Bamako, such as :
- Lemongrass
- Sesame
- Mangoes
- Cashew nuts
- Potatoes
- Turmeric
- Ginger
- Aloe Vera
- Arabic Gum
- Jasmine Flowers
- Hibiscus
- Papayas
- Citrus fruits
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Roucou (Bixa Orellana)
- etc...
What I am trying to know is the average yield for those crops, so that I can compare those crops on a production aspect and make a better decision.
Is there any ressources (websites, books) that gives an overall idea of the yield one can expect for a crop ?
