Repurposing Padded Laptop Case

Another thread led me to come up with this. The world is full of millions of those padded laptop cases that have some sort of rubbery substance built-in. Obviously, if someone needs a laptop case, there you go.

But, supply is far greater than demand. Lots of perfectly good cases get tossed out. So let's figure out some other things they are good for.

1. Obviously, they are good to keep any similar-sized piece of electronics from getting too badly damaged when handled roughly.

2. They also seem to be pretty well insulated, so I could see putting sandwiches or other things in there. I'm not saying it's food safe. I would still put it in a paper bag or some other container.

3. This is one that I've actually tried. Knee pads. There's foam in there and the outer shell is usually made of pretty durable material. You can strap them on or just use them as a kneeling pad. I used one when I was pulling up some recycled t&g flooring. Some of the bigger ones would be ideal as a gardening kneeling pad. If there's not enough padding, cut the arms off of that wetsuit that no one is going to ever use again and stuff them in.

That's all I've got right now. How would you reuse a padded laptop case?

Wall insulation or cool box shell insulation?
sew into gloves?

I use one as a suitcase for 1-night trips if I'm not taking a vehicle. It's ideal for getting through the press of people in ferry crowds, since it has heavy plastic reinforcing on corners. Swing it in front of you end-on and just keep onsaying 'excuse me!' as it prods people out of the way...

Whenever I've transported fruit by bicycle, it ends up bruised from all the bouncing. I could see lining a milk crate or other hard-sided container with the soft material. Or just fill several computer cases and then put them all in the big container. Another one for eggs.
