Citrus can only grow in pots in my area, they may be hot in our warmer seasons but will have to sleep inside  on cold nights and winter inside.  A friend gave me a couple of kumquat fruit, which I love, and harvested the seeds.  I removed the outer protections (I'm sure it horrifies some readers that I don't know the technical term...the crusk?-I made that up) and put the naked seeds in a cup of water in a window, will they germinate?  Will they ever produce fruit?  Any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks to all!

I hired a bunch of ninjas. The fridge is empty, but I can't find them to tell them the mission.
