What’s wrong with my pine trees?

What’s wrong with my pine trees? I live in Northeast Ohio. This year several of our pine trees are brown, and the roots are coming out of the ground. Almost looks like the soil around the trees has eroded. Not every tree looks like this - some of them are fine.

We haven’t done anything to care for them.

Are there general guidelines for pine trees? Such as cutting off the dead branches each spring, mulching around the tree?

Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

1. What has the weather been like in the past few weeks?
2. How long has the trees been like this?
3. Has any one in your neighborhood had pines with pine wilt disease?

1. Weather has been wetter than normal. Several large storms with high winds. Temps normal for an Ohio spring-generally 40s at night and 70s during day.
2. Trees have had slight browning over the years but never this bad. This spring was the first I've noticed severe loss of needles. Also the first year the roots have been exposed. The trees with exposed roots also have trunks that are leaning to one side.
3. I'm not sure about others in neighborhood.

one more bit of info-we have what I believe is a grub infestation in parts of our lawn. This is also the first year that has occurred. In early spring (Feb, March) we noticed several large areas with missing grass that stayed very spongy. These areas were solid and grass-covered last fall.

If the ground is wet with high winds a tree's roots can come up. When you push on the tree does it move a little or a lot? Another issue could be that the wind has fractured the roots below the soil level.

I believe the tree in the picture is Blue Spruce.  Blue Spruce are getting hammered all over the united states.   I have nine Blue spruce on my plot and three of them have a disease that causes the decline of the tree.  Most of the blue spruce in my area have this issue.
