I've been looking at lots of different ideas for abeing outdoor cooker.  The Aprovecho simple L tube cooker looks a LOT  easier to build.   How does it compare to a J tube if both are made of brick?

I suspect that the J takes a bit less active fire management once you have it running.

Seems like the J Is taller if you follow the 1/2/4 ratio.  Will an L tube Aprovecho  of the same height have similar performance?

Thanks.
