Hi All;
The clocks ticking on the piggys going to meet the butcher.
September 11th (an iconic date) they go to Sandpoint , Idaho in the 45 year old pickup truck...
8 Days later.... they come home with air conditioning in the 18 year old Subaru.

Having the pickup become the only grain supply, makes load up on the 10th SO... much easier!
There,s still 500-600# of grain left to snack on. The old Macintosh apple tree is loaded , so plenty of apples to eat... The pond is full and muddy...
Life is still good in piggy paradise!
For 8 more days...

Hi James; Thanks! I take pride in raising fat happy piggys.
This year my pigs are a red wattle cross. They are wild and crazy piggys! It may be indicative of the breed or just that these three , are drunk gangsters! They make my wife bring them fresh grass each day...and if it is not good enough then smoky bites her :) lol
I tell her not to pay them protection grasses but she just can't help herself.

Cool! Heh, protection grass...

I had a friend who raised pure red wattles some years ago, and while talking about them one day he said they were a relatively docile breed, but he must have looked at a sow with new piglets in the wrong way and she came after him one day, busting down a wall of their farrowing hut and he had to high-tail it outta there and do a sort of hybrid hurdle/fosbury flop over the fence.

Hi Ya James:
The short answer is, finger lickin good!
I got them on the 23rd of April at 6 weeks old. They went to the butcher on the 11th of September. That makes them 6 1/2 months old.
Hanging weight) Smoky piggy- 161# Chili piggy - 155# Paprika piggy 148#
apx 2600# of feed , abundant clean water, lots of sunshine/ with shade , makes for happy piggys.

Can hardly wait for spring to get new ones!
