http://www.gizmowatch.com/entry/sun-will-finally-shine-in-viganella-during-winter/

So there is a town that sits in a valley and gets zero direct sun for 84 days of the year. And now they have installed a 25 foot mirror to mend this problem.

Awesome!

Apparently, a computer controls the position of the mirror throughout the day. I think that the whole idea could have heaps of awesome use in alternative energy solar stuff.

Amusing Planet has an article about the mirror

Apparently it shines on the town square in front of the church and lights about 300 square yards. People leave the church and then spend time in the square every week.
