Patio Greenhouse

For those of you who live in apartments who has turned a porch or patio into a greenhouse? Did you have complaints or compliments from neighbors? Were you allowed to build one or did you have to buy one? IF you built  a patio or porch greenhouse please share your blueprints. Pictures or videos of patio gardens in the winter time  would add to this thread. What is an approximate cost for a patio garden? Has anyone designed one to be neglected i.e. set up at someone else's place and you just do maintenance every now and then.
