While picking up remesh from Lowes to make some tomato cages, I couldn't resist going to the garden center and seeing what was on sale. I came home with two nice little rosemary Christmas trees for $2.50 each and ten of the usually $2.98 hardy chrysanthemums (looking quite healthy) for a quarter apiece. I know what to do with the rosemary, but now I'm wondering if there might be some reason (allopathy?) not to plant the mums in my forest garden.

What would you do with those mums?

Gotta love clearance plants! Whenever I go to Lowe's, I always make a point to check out the clearance section of the garden center.

Personally, I have never had issues growing mums with other plants. I have them in various beds across the property and they seem to get along with whatever is growing near them. I also use them in mixed container plantings I sell at the markets each fall, and they're usually packed in there tight enough that they share the same root zone with the other plants in the container.

Yeah, but does being a ninja come with a dental plan? And what about this tiny ad?
