I’m a custodian at a school that is in the process of switching from fluorescent to led bulbs that includes the emergency lights. Is there any alternative use for the little 6 volt batteries that’s in them? They are only a year old so I hate to just send them to recycling.

I put them in series and make 12v out of them.  We use them to run little remote lights for things like the cow barn.  I just put a 12v x 15w solar panel hooked directly to them.  They usually will run for years.
