What wildlife fencing should I use around my 5 acres to keep my critters in and wildlife out?

We want to keep costs down, but want something that will last, that wildlife can't get in and our critters can't get out.

Wildlife:  deer, skunks, coons, rodents
Critters:   Couple of German Shepherds, chickens,  maybe goats
Terrain:  somewhat hilly, Northern California terrain (rainy winters, hot dry summers)

Saw 6ft high steel fencing with rectangular mesh that got smaller at the bottom (for rodents).

What kind of material to build fences do you have on your land?

Will you build the fence or will you pay someone else to build the fence?

Muledeer  fences around here are typically 8 feet tall.

Coons can climb fences.

There are lots of species of rodents... Any in particular that you want to exclude?
