Is there a natural way of washing softshell garments? I know there are some specialized detergents, which are supposed to protect the qualities of a softshell, but I'd like to use something natural, especially stuff that I already have. In the kitchen or garden ;)
I'm in the beginning of "wool washing season", so a rich source of lanolin, but the greatest amounts of lanolin that come off the wool are well mixed with the yucky dirt.
Then I spin the wool, and wash it again prior to dyeing. So maybe I could wash the softshell garment in that
water still full of degreaser and some lanolin, but not so dirty anymore...?
