I am working away on the greenhouse and I should be putting the frame up in the next week if the ground dries up enough. I was looking at the plexiglass today (still frozen in a snowbank on the north side of my barn) as I was planning out the frame. I got one of those curved aluminium plexiglass covered sunrooms for free last year if I removed it. Some of the plexiglass is clear and some of it is tinted. It makes for a double walled system, which is ideal because I want to use this greenhouse all year long.  That being said some of the layers are tinted. I wanted to see if I had enough of the clear plexiglass to complete the project without using the tint but I have my doubts.  I will know more once the snowbank melts. I thought I would put it out there to see if anyone has any experience with this so i can start trying to source clear plexiglass if I have to.

Brayden

What colour is the tint? a bit simplistic but plants need red and blue light so if the panels have a green tint you will be fine. if they are tinted red or blue it will reduce the amount of usable light available to the plants, but maybe you could use them for the base pannels where it is less important? Or make a solid base wall so you need less glazing.

Sorry for the delay.  Been busy with clients and working on the property between rain/snow storms.  Here is a picture of the tinted plexiglass.  Please let me know your thoughts.

My greenhouse is ticking along after I had to scrap the first hole I had planned for it and started over. I just thought I would see if anyone else had any further input for me about the tinted plexiglass.
Thank you for your time.

Brayden

I don't like that guy. The tiny ad agrees with me.
