Found this hunting morels, any idea what it is and if edible? I live in South East iowa.

Looks like turkey tail. If it is it's edible. Make sure you have a positive I'd. Most fungi that grow on trees with pores and no gills are edible or at least won't kill you

It looks like it could be Polyporus squamosus or Dryad's Saddle. The new name is Cerioporus squamosus:
