how to connect a soaker hose to 1" poly irrigation line?

I have a 1" poly irrigation line that stubs at a sprinkler head. I want to turn that head into a length of soaker hose. How would I best go about this?

My local hardware store carries inexpensive parts that are adapters from PVC to garden hose.  

The more expensive option is to screw on a standard hose bib in place of the sprinkler head.

I use quite a bit of 1" poly pipe around and have found the best way to attach a regular garden hose to the 1 inch line is put a male to male adapter for the garden hose on and then the 1 inch line just pushes right over top. It's a tight enough fit that I dont even use a hose clamp.
