Just looking for off grid building ideas for my 45 acre homestead in south central MO.  It is usual ozark rocky clay soil, on a southern slope...I have a good level building site and am looking to do a 30' round house.  Conisdering a mix of cob and cordwood with a living roof.  Suggestions?

I have found it just as easy to heat a second story loft bedroom with a wood stove and a ceiling fan,
