Hello

My first time posting here.

I planted a lapin cherry in 2018 and was so excited to see fruits this year. However, it seems some of the fruits are drying out as they ripen. They appear to have a sunburned look. Any suggestions on what’s wrong and how do I remedy?

Hi J, welcome to Permies!

I would guess that with it being a younger tree, it may just be having a hard time ripening all of the fruit. As it gets older and more established, this should happen less.

I've had something similar happen with a few of my fruit trees.

Looks like you've got a nice looking healthy cherry tree, hope you get some tasty cherries soon!

Might also do a necropsy to see if there is a bug issue. I would think it is likely the "exuberance of youth" though...
