Baby rattlesnake?

Is this a baby rattlesnake? I found this very small snake on my patio. It is about 6 inches long, 3/16 inches in diameter. It does not have or show signs of a rattle. I live in Jamul, CA, a rural area outside of San Diego. Our place is about 2500 feet elevation. We live in a high desert chaparral environment. I have found adult gopher snakes, garter snakes, rattle snakes, and rosy boas on the property before. I found the snake on a warm August evening, about 80 degrees F.

Newborn rattlesnakes have a "button" on the end of their rather stubby tail and their head is kind of square shaped.
Your snake resembles the baby gopher snakes that I see at my farm in late summer.

I can't see the eyes so if the eyes resemble this one then it might be a Western Coachwhip:
