Corn stalk bales.

I live in NW Iowa. Corn stalk bales are much more accessible here than straw ( oat, wheat, etc)
Of course the corn has been combined already so one would not have to worry the food problem. Has anyone used corn stalk bales  or know of a reason why this is not done.

one idea is to set a bale on the ground.  Joel Karsten explains in “Straw Bale Gardens.”  It is important no herbicide was used.
