How many hours of direct sun for a blue java banana in HOT SoCal sun?

Im looking to get a blue java banana soon but my yard is quite harsh and dry in summer. Will it be restricted to only morning sun?

give it as many hours of sun as possible.... and lots of water once it starts to take off
where are you sourcing the blue java?
i ask this because most blue java end up being the other ice cream.. namwa... which is a great tasting fairly cold hardy variety
most people prefer the taste of namwa
they are both fairly cold hardy but namwa slightly more so
