growing sea buckthorn from stratified berries -- need drying first or no?

Much thanks. I just got a branch from a friend's place in town with berries that have overwintered in my zone 5 region. I know it's possible to root the branch too. Please lemme know if there's any specifics to sea buckthorn.  Great Thanks & to a springy Spring>>>,  OgreNick
