I threw a few bags of wild meadow flowers a couple of years back on my old lawn I dug up.
The flowers have come back twice and I was happy with them and so were the bees 🙂🙂🙂
I’m just in the process of tidying up a bit and was wondering if anyone knows what these plants are and if they are weeds or whatever?
I’m unsure what to dig up and what to leave.
Some have appeared from nowhere last year and weren’t there the year before, like some huge fennel plants.
It’s lovely that new plants appear, even though I haven’t planted them.
I’ll post photos below as I go along to show what is growing now.
Can't say I know, but you may like the plantnet app to ID plants. I snap pictures all the time and run them through its algorithm. Seems to be pretty accurate, and there are ways to get feedback from it as well. Lots of pictures and sightings from all over the world!
The first is indeed a buttercup, I would remove it depending on the type they can be horribly invasive. I think the tall one might be horehound, not 100% sure, but that was probably one of the flower mix. If the buddlia is getting to big you can cut it right down to the ground now and it will still flower this year, they flower on new wood.
