Hi, I'm not usually very good at putting myself out there (I've always loathed job interviews etc) but I think I'll give it a shot. Worst case, I don't get a single response, best case I get a good one.
About me. I'm 36 and I'm starting over in life. I'm a handy-man/jack-of-all-trades and can fix or make anything I put my mind to. I've primarily worked in the construction trades with carpentry and plumbing being my strengths so far. I'm fun loving and laid back but can be serious if I have to. I am bonkers about
permaculture and I am turning my small town double lot into an urban oasis. I enjoy reading when I have time and I enjoy a documentary, sci-fi, comedy, or adventure show on rainy days. I play board and card
games when I can get
enough players. I listen to Paul's pod casts regularly during my hour long commute to work. I'm trying to adjust to a more minimalist lifestyle but with our long zone 3 winters I want to keep enough hobby and craft supplies around to stave off cabin fever. I love kids and have 4 of my own. 3 live with me half the time and the situation with the other 1 is fluid at the moment. I am an omnivore but I enjoy a mostly
vegetarian diet.
About my situation. Currently I work full time as maintenance for a cabinet factory but I'm working toward having residual and
permaculture based income so I can work from home. I own my car and a house in a small town. I'm installing
hugelkultur beds and have plans for a natural swimming pool, an earth sheltered "sauna", a small rocket fired smithy/foundry, outdoor kitchen. and hope to have a couple
rabbits to paddock shift across the lot.
What I'm looking for. Frankly, I've done the whole "happily married and have a family only to be lied to and cheated on" thing. Twice. So I really don't see marriage as a goal, rather a long term commitment between equals instead.
I want a relationship based on trust, integrity and common goals. I can handle rejection and if we are both honest we can work through any hiccups along the way. I'm not too picky about age but I expect a certain amount of maturity and the ability to work alongside me on projects.
Permaculture lifestyle and/or goals are a must. I'm looking for someone who isn't afraid to work, whether at home or at a job. I am an atheist and I would prefer you be as well but I can respect any religion or belief as long as it isn't harmful to others or being pushed on me or my kids. For reasons I can explain later I am tied to living where I am for the next couple of years so hopefully you can relocate here. I have a spare room as well as a "guest camper" and if you have kids and things go well we can build some bunk beds and make things work.
If I don't sound too dull and you are interested send me a PM or my email is in my profile.
