A Permy Poem

We are in transition, the other world is emerging.

Every new permy is one who is aware
Of the corporate greed,
Of its insatiable need,
For stuff, more things
The false joy this brings
Its is up to us permies, the ones who care

We are mining the planet, we are mining our soul
Of copper, iron and tin
China contracts to win
playstation zombies abound
iPods, iPhones, mechanical sounds
Now morally depleted, its taken its toll

Along come the permies, bright-eyed and keen
With spades, buckets and picks
The permy designers bag of tricks
To love, educate, laugh and share
To show mother Gaia we really do care
Rallying all permies, now stand and be seen
