I'm
looking for an entry-level position in the environmental protection career-field, and have been contacting many various groups here around the Central Valley of California with this idea to help transition (too-)commercial agriculture to better land use, like permaculture basically, ya'll know, like the very powerful lobby/ag. interests that would not want this more environmentally and socially healthy transition at the cost of their self-interest/profit/shareholders' interests/etc.
My idea is to basically help in the Central Valley region, and evaluate-grade food production lands (as needed) and suggest how to transition (including with sustainable livelihoods outreach too), ya'll know. I don't have too much experience, but definitely some good, permaculture type of learning and working with growing food, and so I'm trying to join others who are also doing (or wanting to do) this transitional permaculture designing. Any suggestions on who is doing this? Or even, how I can gain more experience on this particular transitional design work, like take a permaculture design course? and if so, would this course have a focus on, or enable my project developmending of
transitional permaculture design of lands currently (ab)used by industrial ag.?
I'm also thinking of the approach to partner with a university professor/researcher, as sort of an independent study, or action-oriented (research) project, or another approach would be to get with the right land use or permaculture consultancy group (as an entry-level assistant like). I believe I'm charged with this work as I've even been developing
