Hello. I am new here. I am uncertain how much I will post. I tend to not post on forums much but since I have been browsing I thought I would make an account and try posting. My husband has took a year long (one weekend a month)
permaculture design course and when my children are older I will probably take it as well. We are about to buy a house with a little bit of
land. We don't plan to try and be totally self
sustainable or anything like that as the land is part of a bishop pine forest and my understanding is that nitrogen tends to be very bad for bishop pines but we do plan to do some
gardening and we very much want to work with the land int he most respectful way and we will use a lot of
permaculture ideas. I am excited to grow many berries and the land already is covered with wild huckleberries and strawberries. Also I am a fiber artist and the land has many
native dye plants and is near the ocean and some
local fiber artists have been experimenting with sea
water to mordant fibers and dye them with the native dye plants. Anyhow I wanted to briefly introduce myself.
also I have a small question. in the regions section I do not see a region that seems to cover california. I see the upper west coast as cascadia but that seems to cover everything but california. maybe not many people here are living in my neck of the woods? seems like a lot of people living around me are very interested in
permaculture though.
I am glad to be here.
