Hello to everyone in the community,

My wife and I purchased 9 acres of raw land and moved here in May of 2022. We bought the land off Kijiji. No one has ever lived here before and it was completely untamed. We have a corner lot with about 300 meters of road frontage and the back of the property borders crown (public) land. There is a small stream running across the property and we have a south facing exposure with a level top section which will be good for building. The property is covered in mostly mature trees with the species being large aspen, balsam fir, spruce, and pine.

We moved here and both left promising careers to get back to what brings us real joy. Hard work and working towards mutual goals. It has been a real task but in 3 months we have accomplished so much through our "sweat equity" program. Our goal is to live more sustainably, grow veggies and hunt deer/moose, and to develop enough room to comfortably move about and to build a house ourselves within 10 years. And also with no loans or mortgage. Right now we live in a 13 foot 1975 trailer and trading comfort for freedom is an easy decision and it allows us to save money for our goals
