My partner and I are looking for a change in landbase. We've been involved with slow-going projects to wake a 70 acre farm from 20 years of dormancy while also being heavily committed to urban farming and food justice activities in Brooklyn, New York for the past 4 years (our current place of residence). This spring 7 gardens will plant out forest edge and shade garden habitats with trees we helped secure a grant for. Despite all this rewarding work, we're both looking for respite from city dwelling and just want to help things grow.

We've explored WWOOFing for the coming grow season but have had more ambivalent experiences than fulfilling ones quite honestly. We want to feel like we have some creative freedom and the three farms I worked on comprised of mainly busy work that could have been spent moving the spaces toward stability. Estate stewardship was an option that fell through unfortunately and I don't have the slightest idea on how to find more opportunities like that. This is such an amazing community with innovative ideas; what do y'all suggest we can do to find a location to help on (1), where we can also practice some of our integrative projects (2), and can financially support us (3)?
