Is this the same as letting kids explore and then explaining what it is they are seeing/sensing, peer-learning rather than locking them up and telling them that they have to read 10pages of book/etc. If so I think it is a great idea and that more teachers should be doing that vs making kids dislike science due the stress/workload involved with the teaching style.
