Morning Goutam
My husband began buildiing our log home 15 years ago. I couldn't access your link, so I'll share a few things. We initially checked out kits but quickly dismissed them as we weren't crazy about pine, kiln dried, checking logs problem and faster isn't better. We opted to buy 2 old cabins, built in the 1800s, pecan, oak and poplar - taken down (with lime stone chimneys) and trucked to our land. It took 2 years of weeks ends and holidays, but are beyond pleased. They are slow going as everything much be planned ahead like wiring as you have to drill for the wire chase on every course -worth it - you bet.
