Hello,
I am building a small homestead in the Poconos in PA. I would like to sell excess products produced here.. honey, eggs, seedlings and the like. I’ve registered as an llc. But Im having trouble finding general liability insurance to cover the business. I was told through Liberty Mutual that I could sell plants and honey but not eggs? Seriously!?! So I wondering what you do to cover yourselves? Thanks.

My suggestion would be to look for a local agent that offers multiple lines rather than just one company.

These are sometimes called "Independent Agents" and will offer "Farm and Ranch Insurance".

If you don't find one then look for an agent that sells for "Farm Bureau".

These agents are very knowledgeable in the farm-type businesses.

Sometimes cooperatives or associations have deals with insurance.
