I have two video editing packages (pinnacle 15 and avid studio). They are similar, but each has things that the other doesn't. And when it comes to stabilizing video, they both do it the same way, which is not as good as the algorithm in youtube. These programs can stabilize left to right and up and down, but they do nothing for rotation-twist-like-stuff.

When I uploaded the outhouses video, youtube says "want me to stabelize that?" and I said "sure". So that's why a lot of the video is really smooth, but the text is downright crazy.

For the hugelkultur video, i would upload a video fragment as a private video, then do the stabilize thing and then download. This made some fragments VERY smooth. But it takes hours for each video fragment. Thus making video editing a far larger chore than it used to be.

I downloaded and installed some free stuff that was supposed to be just as good at this, but I couldn't seem to get it to work.

Maybe it is time for me to buy a third video editing package?
