Really excellent
video. Notice that he is building a cabin with green logs.
If you are building a house with rough sawn lumber from the sawmill always nail it up green and do not dry it beforehand;
let it dry in place. If you dry before building it will warp, cup, curl, become very hard, if hardwood lumber, and difficult to nail;
antidote to that is to dip the nails in oil or coat with parrafin wax; in extreme cases also blunt the tip of the nail before driving;
use cut nails and/or pole barn case-hardened ring shank nails.
