Greetings all.
I am hoping to start connecting with natural bee keepers in BC Canada.
We are building a couple Lazutin style horizontal hives and plan on getting bees in the spring.
Our goal is to continue building up our property to where we can sustain enough colonies to be able to focus on breeding locally adapted bees.
As so far I have not been able to find anyone who raises their own bees in the BC interior. it is all imported bees.
And the few breeders north of us are very industrial style bee keeping so lots of ick in the hives.
Anyway that's my goal.
Any contacts would be greatly appreciated.

here is a link about those hives. https://www.beesource.com/threads/is-lazutin-horizontal-hive-too-big.322448/
It discusses whether its too hard to get extracting equipment for it and other issues.
If cold weather is an issue, perhaps look at the topic on Serbian bee keeping where they use a shed.
