First off I want to say, I was blown over by the number of permies I met at the Baker Creek festival this month at my booth. I probably met 4 couples NEW to the area (w/in the last 2 years) and so many more people that already live here ~ that are into permaculture! The projects taking off right now are amazing! I've never been in one place where so many people knew the word permaculture. My booth was next to a local organic garden supply guy, so our area was permie central. So much good conversation everything from Hugle beds to trap plants. I invited them all out here too and it'll be so great to get opinions & suggestions on how we can improve our permaculture projects. What's even better is that I have discovered there is an actual permaculture community here. We are spread out, but Baker Creek was close enough to us all - though for some it was a long-ish trip. Can't wait to see who else I meet as the months come and I do more festivals. If any of you come to the Baker Creek (Missouri) festivals, the Lebanon,MO farmer's market come find me at the herbal booth/ Plant Healer.
Anyway, I'm working on a piece for next month listing all the herbal conferences I can find. So far I have 30 in the U.S. and Canada. If you have any you'd like to make sure are included, please let me know. When I'm done, I'll post it for you guys. Thanks!!!
