These 2 plants are growing at my in-laws house in southern Maine. Can anybody help identify these?

I'm not sure about the first one but the second is barberry.

The first is wild rose hips... I'm pretty sure. If you leave them alone then they'll be a nice treat for birds as they come back from the south. Waxwings seem to eat all of mine.
