Hello all,
I've been a lurker for a long while now. I've been reading and digesting all things permaculture for the past... almost a year, and I just finished a PDC with Darrell Frey of Three Sisters Farm, so I feel ready to contribute to the conversations! Though I'm still mainly in learning mode, I figured it was time to at least post and throw my two cents in every now and again. Anyway, I love this forum; it has been such a great source of information for me and hopefully I can add something to the conversations.

Thanks for the welcome! The PDC was great. The best part for me was actually seeing permaculture in action, and making connections with other like-minded individuals. It only made me even more convinced that permaculture is the future I'm interested in investing my time and energy in. We'll see where it goes!

Excellent point! I do consider myself a life long student... and up until last summer I had been a formal student since I was 5 years old! Now I actually teach classes at a college (not in permaculture, mores the pity), so transitioning from student to teacher has been a weird experience for me. And now with learning permaculture I'm almost starting over again in a new subject and felt totally inadequate to comment in the presence of so many knowledgeable people. I guess I just didn't want to be that guy who spouts off while totally uninformed. I just felt like I needed to learn the basics before opening my mouth, or keyboard, as it were. Having done that, I'm excited to discuss permaculture and perhaps contribute now, while still soaking in as much info as possible. My house isn't close to being built yet; in fact, I haven't even finished laying the foundation!
