Black locust - direct seeding frost danger?

I plan to sow large quantities of black locust to afforest some land in zone 7a. I plan to scarify a bunch using hot water and sow before the last frost (might be -3°C for a few hours on some mornings over the next two months). Should I take a chance and sow or is it frost tender in the early stages?

I wouldn't worry if it wasn't hot water scarification as it would grow when it can but as such it may trigger germination too early.

I suspect tree seeds need the right temperature along with the scarification, before they will sprout.

Good point! I will start experimenting, it might as well sprout when it has the right conditions. I managed to source some dried heat scarified seeds which allegedly will germinate so I will plant mostly these now. I'll try a few of the others as well.
