I had a delivery driver come in today who asked me if I knew anything about bumble bees - Not a lot really! Apparently he had had a bumble bee fly into his van and hit the inside of the windscreen. It seemed to make a recovery, but he was wondering whether it could just be released. We decided it needed to be taken back to near where if flew in, since otherwise it would not find it's nest again. Luckily there is only one road back off the island, so he will be passing back the way he came. I'm not sure I would have thought of that myself. Hope it makes it's way home.

Agreed, I hope she finds her way home. Or can start a new nest -- these are resilient and practical creatures who adapt to circumstances.

I think you just had a lovely and remarkable interaction with a fellow thoughtful human. Maybe there is hope for us yet.
