Terra Futura, a regenerative neighborhood just 1.5 miles from West Asheville, is redefining how Americans think about urban living. Blending sustainability, resilience, and community, this visionary project offers a middle ground between traditional neighborhoods and highly structured intentional communities.

Designed with permaculture principles, Terra Futura features shared green spaces, edible landscapes, and pedestrian-friendly paths, creating a vibrant environment that encourages connection and sustainable practices. Unlike other models, it’s accessible to those seeking community and eco-friendly living without rigid requirements.

The neighborhood’s founders, Jack Henry and Kelsey Wood-Henry, left their careers to create a replicable model for a more connected and resilient future. Terra Futura’s design addresses challenges like climate change, social isolation, and urban sprawl, while fostering a lifestyle rooted in balance and well-being. Welcome to permies, sounds delightful and like somewhere I'd like living if it wasn't all the way across the country from me, there are lots of intentional communities in your area though so people in that area are familiar with the concept and will be eager to participate no doubt.  I like this neighbourhood style model.

the struggle IS the education. Wise old tiny ad:
