35F | LFM | Homesteading Goals in the Midwest

Hey 👋🏻

I’m a 35 year old female currently living and working in DSM, Iowa. While I live in town, I have goals to get out eventually (and maybe with the right person). I currently garden and raise chickens in my urban backyard, along with bake and am working towards trying to be more sustainable with my two girls.

As a military kid, I have moved around a lot and ended up in Iowa. I was able to live on a small acreage as a kid where we had goats, chickens, geese, ducks and horses. I spent a lot of time training and showing horses for awhile as well.

I ended up getting a degree in conservation management and taught outdoor education for many years, specifically to children. I have a lot of outdoor skills including skinning, backpacking, camping, kayaking, archery, chainsaw work, hooking up/pulling a trailer and just a lot of general knowledge just to name a few things! I now have an MPA and work in volunteer coordination.

I’m a driven, hard working, pretty hilarious person looking for a like minded partner who won’t question me coming home with goats. 🙃 I am also not religious, but spiritual and enjoy things such as astrology and tarot.
