Biography
Howdy.. my name is Wind Clearwater (John is not my name..permies.com won't let me use Wind as my first name 🤔) and I live in Western Colorado.  I have been working on my off grid homestead for 20 years. I live in a strawbale home I built (and am still building) myself.
I currently raise pigs 4 and chickens and have a couple of dogs. I also have 3 children 2 grown and one still growing..
My passion is plants and I partially sustain myself financially with a small nursery and designing landscapes. I play and write music and read a lot as well as spend a lot of time in nature... obviously. 😁
Would love to connect with other folks in the permaculture/homestead world as friends. Feel free to reach out, I am always open to visitors and have plenty of room.
Thanks for being here and checking in.
Be well.

Katie Na wrote:Hello!🌿 I’m a 33-year-old woman with a big dream and an open heart, looking for a male life partner to share in creating a homestead and a meaningful, adventurous life together. I have some freedom to relocate right now, and my dream is to find an old farmhouse or Victorian home near the East Coast or Appalachian Mountains to turn into a cozy bed and breakfast or antique shop, or both! I picture a warm, welcoming space where we can live simply, meet wonderful people, and enjoy the satisfaction of self-sustaining living.

While I’m fully capable of building this dream on my own, I’d much rather share it with someone so we can grow, laugh, and flourish together. Ideally, I’d love to find someone who’s handy and brings skills that complement my own. I’m nurturing, organized, and creative, and I love taking care of people and creating cozy, beautiful spaces. I prefer traditional roles, value genuine partnership, and hope to build a family someday.

A bit about me: I’m outgoing, funny, spontaneous, and warm, the kind of person who can strike up a conversation with anyone but also loves a quiet, cozy night in. Pretty, but not perfect. I adore being on or in the water, listening to live music, and traveling. My guilty pleasure is anything paranormal! I love the idea of being able to pause the B&B for a couple of weeks and go volunteer with elephants in Thailand, because life is exactly what you make it, and I want ours to be full of adventure and purpose. I’ve been looking at multi-family homes throughout the East Coast and Appalachian region that would make it easy to rent and essentially pay the mortgage/bills.

🧺Just to add, I’m not desperate to fit someone into this vision. I’m simply putting my feelers out to see if there’s someone whose dreams align with mine. I’d like my partner to be able to contribute equally, both emotionally and financially, because I’ve worked hard to bring my self-sustaining dreams to life, and I want my partner to feel that same sense of pride and value in what we build together.

I’m pretty easygoing when it comes to lifestyle. I don’t mind someone who enjoys a drink or smokes now and then, just not in excess. Definitely no hard drugs or addiction issues. And fair warning: I do have tattoos! It’s come up before on here for some reason, but I promise they don’t bite. 😄

If this vision speaks to you and you can see yourself in it, I’d truly love to hear from you! I’m happy to exchange photos as well ☺️🧵

Hey Katie! How bout a friend? You sound awesome and I love your idea. I'm 34F. My dream is to create a tech free community so people can get away from electronics and electricity. If we combine both of our dreams, we can create a B&B without electricity where people can rest from modern society. Haha i'd love that myself.

.cool..that is exactly what I am building on 75 acres in  Western Colorado.. you ladies want to team up..😀

I’m not dead set on any area, I’m open to ideas! I’ve just been in the south for a couple of years now, and I’m missing cooler weather. I like mountains, harbor towns, rivers, etc ☺️

Cool..I live in Colorado..have you been here?

Howdy.
I am much in the same camp.  I bought my land years ago with the intention of community and have been through many phases of that over the years
Currently open to folks joining me and my daughter (also 7) on our land in Western Colorado. .
If you are interested, let's connect..I have no attachment to how community looks and open to different scenarios
 Take care,
~ Wind~
For sure Jennifer.  I have been working this ground for 20 years. It has been through many different iterations.
I'm focusing on finishing my house and building fertility with animals this year. It's a good shift.
And we have had some pretty intense grasshoppers for the past couple of years... so working on finding a balance there.
Are you growing anything in AZ?
