I'm looking for someone to relocate to my off-grid life, connected to the source, disconnected from the distractions.  If that's not you, please save yourself the torture of a long read, and skip to the next guy.  However, if that IS you...       you are in for a treat - welcome to the REAL world!

My life in the eight-sided Gazabin that I built amidst the aspens and ponderosa is a dream come true, but "man, I wish I had a hand to hold."

I live on 36 acres of old growth forest (Stolen Land), which borders the seemingly endless Snowmass-Maroon Bells Wilderness. I lived here as a child in a 10'×10' dirt floor cabin, and much later, I buried my father under his favorite ponderosa when he was ready to return to his travels - I am rooted here.

My neighbors are of other species and there is no light pollution and little sound pollution here. Though the Gazabin is built already, the projects never end. I love the work, but would love it more with your ideas and help. Working together as a COUPLE, enjoying the fruits of our labor, connecting deeply, and living with a common goal.

I am a Biocentrist and vegan who loves being in daily awe at the great mystery and in connection with the natural world around me.

"When awe colors what we see, reality becomes more magical."

I love laughing, hiking (out the front door, my own private trail climbs 6½ miles to the 12,796' double summit peak of my watershed), cycling, tennis, swimming in mountain streams and lakes, cutting and splitting firewood, carpentry projects, gathering service berries, chokecherries, and rose hips, spur of the moment and planned road trips, world travel (it's been a while), preparing and eating great food, reading by the fire, and laying in the hammock as a breeze blows through the aspens, their leaves sounding like a gentle wave coming ashore. Many people live their lives 90% connected to humanity, and 10% of the time, pack up their car for a weekend camping trip to connect with nature. Up here, there is no Red Pill or Blue Pill, the GazabinLīf offers something far better... a Green Pill! In my niche, 90% of the time I run feral (personal hygiene is important) - incessantly alive and connected to what sustains me in the natural world around the Gazabin.

"The natural world is the larger sacred community to which we belong.  To be alienated from this community is to become destitute in all that makes us human.  To damage this community is to diminish our own existence."

10% of the time, I like to shave, wipe down my Blundstones, dress up, jump in the car, and head to the city to catch a play, or a concert, and enjoy wonderful food. These two left feet can climb any mountain, and they'll walk the line to the ends of the earth for the one I love, but they simply cannot traverse a dance floor, sorry. I love my off-grid life, but without a partner to share in the beauty, the work, successes and failures, the dream, the days, and the long nights... it doesn't feel fulfilling.

I am a caring man who will make you laugh and feel important. I love to love and to be loved. Intimacy, affection, always holding hands, a spontaneous kiss or hug, never going to sleep without holding the one I love, kissing her, telling her I love her, and whispering, "Good night..." these are nourishing to a relationship, and I crave this sort of interaction. I'm content in the wild, and have never been interested in a very social life. Rather, I prefer the quality of a profound one-on-one connection.

I'm debt-free and financially comfortable (free from the shackles of employment and thus in a position to invest a lot into a relationship, ie. time, travel, etc.), well-educated (I went to college when I was 16, but PLEASE come teach me more!), respectful, and very attentive to my partner's needs. I enjoy cooking and baking in my chimney oven, and I make my own oat milk, cookies, peanut butter, kombucha, and chipotle hummus. Cleanliness and organization are important to me (you won't be picking up after me), you'll always find the toilet seat overlooking the forest with the seat down and stocked with toilet paper, and best of all... I don't snore.

My beautiful, 12-year-old son is with me every other week, and it is my joy to once again be a child at his side, and to guide him on the path to becoming a kind, curious, respectful, and enlightened man, connected to nature and humanity in a way that will bring happiness to him and those around him, and prepared to survive in this challenging future. My heart is big, and it is strong; it can revolve around a binary star. Shine your wisdom and light on him with me, share with him a woman's perspective, and I will provide for, protect, and care for you both, seamlessly, at the same time. Let us model for him, and all who see us what a loving, respectful, and passionate relationship looks like.

Long ago, I worked as a wildlife biologist, specializing in big cat research. I've been to all fifty states in this country, all the territories and provinces of Canada (except Nunavut), speak Spanish fluently, and I've traveled on five continents, awed by the beauty of this Earth, and gaining a diversity of perspectives from its inhabitants. Once upon a time, I led horseback tours into Haleakalā's crater, and it's my plan to spend a portion of my Winters in Hawai'i, and the rest of the year in the Rockies... wanna come?

It is my dream to find a strong, consistently emotionally healthy, and happy woman who matches where I'm at and challenges me to go further. Ideally, my partner would be able to work from home (writing, painting, crafting, online, etc), or have an alternative form of income (rental?), so that she can be home and invest in our relationship in a balanced way (time, love, and affection). Loyalty is something that I take very seriously, and I insist on honesty in communication (otherwise, what's the point?). I desire a woman who is confident in herself, fun-loving and affectionate, and who is passionate and enjoys intimacy (outside, bathed in Supermoonlight is beautiful!). Drugs are not my thing.

Two enlightened individuals coming together to form a Third is never a simple task; it takes work and compromise. I am down for that because we both deserve the rewards that this work leads to. Inevitably, there will be things you read here that fall a little outside of what you might imagine your dream man to be like. That's where the work comes into play. Let us embrace the work, and celebrate the results. Though I definitely want our interests and beliefs to overlap, I also want to grow from what you bring into my life.

Come plant a garden and help me finish my wood-fired hot tub and sauna, joining me in the warm spring water, our glistening bodies warmly lit by candlelight, and let us watch the night sky, be present together, talk about what's important, and explore one another intellectually, spiritually, and intimately.

Earth... it's my favorite planet, come enjoy it with me!

I've been there. For a short time I worked at a Disco in Aspen. I think it was called the, Paragon, as I recall. Lived in Carbondale, right on the Roaring Forks River, next door to a nursery. One day I took a pole and crossed over to the other side of the river. Up the mountain, until I was on a ledge that overlooked the ascent. I wasn't close enough to fall off the edge; Yet close enough to where my peripheral vision no longer referenced the ground. It felt like I was standing in mid air. Yeah. 1979.

As I recall, there was some sort of resort at a place called the Frying Pan. Saw a concert there and nearly got my International confiscated by the cop. Told him I was leaving next week and I would pay the ticket. He let me go. Oh, and the, "High Mountain Taxi" service.

What else: Skied Snow Mass and that's where I learned about the, can't remember what they're called but don't try to ski straight through. It's a dip with a bunch a speed bumps in it you're supposed to switch back and forth through. My cousin Laura went right through. I crashed and burned.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Byron, my name is Lindsey, 41 single mother of a 4 year old boy with no co-parent. Seeking community and connection. We have been isolated the past 4 years and I know it's time to get out and get into the community. I work for myself offering services in the realms of psychic mediumship, animal communication/psychic lost pet location services as well as certify and teach others Usui Reiki. We live in western north carolina near asheville. I don't consider myself looking for a partner but I'm also not not looking. I had the urge to reply so here I am.

The Gazabin in Summer...

I've been putting in spruce log and red sand walkways.

Note the smoke issuing from the wood-fired water heater warming the hot tub.

Essential to know about me and who I am looking for...

●  I live in my 460 ft² Gazabin, remotely in the forest, at an elevation of 7,820'.  Summer temperatures reach into the low 90's, Winter temperatures drop to below 0°
●  Being vegan is important to me philosophically, but I am open to a vegetarian partner
●  I am not a social person, but rather bond deeply one-on-one
●  I love animals, but choose not to have pets, as I don't care to compromise my life around their needs
●  I definitely do not want more children at this stage of my life, and I would prefer a partner without children (this is Workable criteria)
●  I am not religious and do not believe in a Christian God, though I find Jesus' teachings about love, compassion, and communism excellent guides
●  I am not a subscriber to conspiracies.  That humanity's baser characteristics describe many, and the lust for wealth/power defines much of our species' impact on each other and the planet is not lost on me, but I refuse to let that negativity cloud my life; there is simply too much beauty and wonder that I can instead make my focus in this one life.  "All powers have two sides, the power to create and the power to destroy.  We must recognize them both, but invest our gifts on the side of creation."
●  I am not comfortable with the world of "woo-woo.'  I place no importance in astrology, past lives, etc.  That is not to say that I have it all figured out, or that I am not open to learning new things - by no means
●  My political views are much farther to the left than that of the Democratic Party.  Racism, xenophobia, fascism, fear, hate, and imperialism are diseases that are not tolerable to me... come back when you are cured
●  I like to work and play in the beauty of Nature - sitting indoors all the time, possessed by the phone's screen seems a waste of a life
●  For the success of a long-term relationship, I believe I am most compatible with an intelligent, physically and emotionally strong, active, and fit woman between 40 and 52, preferably over 5'6" tall (workable)
●  Though I am not a fan of the pharmaceutical/Western medical industry, I did, ultimately, choose to be vaccinated for COVID-19.  I'm not convinced I'd do it again, though

Still interested, then please reach out and let's connect!

More and more, as I spend my days at the Gazabin or travel around this beautiful planet spinning through the Universe, I contemplate what my true role is as a human and how I can ever more fully and authentically inhabit the Earth in the correct way.

We sometimes talk about two species as having a symbiotic relationship, as though this were some rare exception to the normal solitary, independent path of an organism, when in fact there are *no* exceptions to symbiosis - *everything* is connected, and Gaia is one super organism with each chemical, virus, bacteria, algae, fungi, plant, and animal interacting *symbiotically* with each other and with the minerals, water, and weather around us.

We have tried to, at once take ourselves out of Gaia and elevate ourselves above her, and through this inauthentic and unhealthy experiment, we have thrown our relationship with each other, and *all* our relations into disarray, and this dissonant approach has given rise to unnatural behaviors, diseases, and emotions and threatens our very existence.

We need to once more fulfill our ecological role, recognize and embrace the Wild within us, and in so doing reap the rewards of living in awe and harmony with all others that comprise Gaia.

This starts by spending the majority of our time in Wild environments and, above all, being slow, curious, and compassionate.  Focusing on anything but our true needs is simply a recipe for discontentment, strife, and the waste of a life.

WE are always traveling in and out of Gaia in this Galactic Universe.  But yes,  it is the mission to be rooted in Gaia.  It was the planned mission to flourish what is organic ,...as opposed to what is a result of a mindset that convenience serves as being comfortable.  It is the original blueprint...an organic planet.   Traveling the planet can be worthwhile, but it is also possible to sprout the seed in your heart,.. without ever leaving where you are.  The important thing to remember is that seeds do not always sprout.  The organic world is a complex beingness that interacts on an intricate connected level with us.  Utmost care,...intention in the darkness...complete devotion and unwaivering commitment to the vision of the organic completion is what is needed in the world.  otherwise,  you are lost in samsara.

I love your property and projects! What a magical place you've built for yourself. Nice work!

As far as "taking ourselves out of Gaia," I think you might have some contradictory thoughts. Nature guides us. We do not steer this ship. So the extent to which we have taken ourselves out of Gaia is the extent to which Gaia has decided to remove us. There is no such thing as an "unnatural" behavior, disease, or emotion. How could there be?

I certainly agree that we could benefit from being more connected to nature, but the idea that we're pushing against nature (when nature is the thing that pushes us) is just silly. =)

Yes Jessi,  I agree that Byron is plagued with some contradictory thought patterns... but I do however believe that we " steer this ship".  We ARE in Gaia.    I would like to touch on your statement,,...
>>>>>>"There is no such thing as an "unnatural" behavior, disease, or emotion. How could there be?"
*******Naturally occurring chemicals can be either: an unprocessed chemical that is found in nature, such as chemicals from. plants, micro-organisms, animals, the earth and the sea. a chemical that is found in nature and extracted using a process that does not change its chemical composition.
-----------Unnatural behavior stems from consuming, injecting and breathing substance with a change in natural occurring chemical composition.   Do you believe that the cure for all disease does not exist in its pure form in nature?   Do you think that the answer is in the BIG PHARMACEUTICAL?  The Internal combustion Engine?  The pesticides...the Herbicides??  Is it natural for children to spend youth in classrooms preparing them to be slaves?  Is that natural?    I disagree with you Jessi.

Hey, Cat!

I hope all is well with you wherever you may be.

I understand the majority of humans have an innate feeling of free will and control. I'm a part of the minority that believes we have developed a sense of free will for practical reasons, but it's sort of a mirage. And since we are inextricably connected to the natural world, nothing we do can exist outside of it. Are some things more harmful to our health than others? Certainly! Cancer is lethal, but it's still a natural event.

I know these ideas can be disorienting for some, but they bring me great hope. If only we could overcome our egos and self-imposed dogma, we'd all be living in a much better world.

Thanks for the lively discussion. It's healthy to challenge each other's ideas. Take care =)

I find your words to be fragmented...in similarity to this modern world.  After so many lives of manifestation onto this planet, I see that it is a natural process of attempted integration for someone such as yourself to process.  All is well jessi ..jive on.  peace out.

Hi Byron,
May I just ask, how thick do those log ends need to be to make this kind of walkway,  or "spruceway" as you call it? I love this look of it.
Thank you, and good luck on your search!

Aloha Elanor!

I worried that the rounds would crack, become unstable, or rot out quickly, so I put in a LOT of extra work.

First, I dug a trench 14" deep, then I gathered eroded sand from the red sandstone cliffs here and put down a two inch layer of sand on the bottom of the trench.  All logs were cut 12" long, and as I placed them in the trench, I shoveled in sand around them.  The logs never touch soil or anything organic, and with this strategy I hope to keep them from rotting out too quickly.

It seems that I always do things the hard way.

Thank you for asking.

This morning's thoughts at the Gazabin...

                    Who am I *really*?

•Consciousness (Universal LifeConsciousness)... the NowMoment

•On a less foundational and yet still important level, I am the vessel Lifeform: ByronHuman, inhabited by the Universal LifeConsciousness

•The ByronHuman can join/acknowledge the Universal LifeConsciousness in the NowMoment, and in that union/acknowledgment, and in all moments, the ByronHuman should, with *intention and awareness*, do his best to *honor and show gratitude* for the gift that the Universal LifeConsciousness has given him by inhabiting him.  The ByronHuman should strive to be worthy of this gift by performing at the highest level of enlightened Love, and these efforts should be reflected in his interactions with all other Lifeforms, and the Water, Minerals, Air, etc upon which he, all his Brothers and Sisters, and the LifeConsciousness itself depend.

I remember that who we essentially are, our core identity, is our conscious connection to the moment and to all that is, and that this connection is one that once upon a time, when we lived as wild animals, preserving the beautifully perfect jewel that is Earth, we came to naturally in our Emptyness and simplicity.

As understandably tempting as the fruit of knowledge was/is, and as difficult as it is to accept, this unending quest for knowledge, understanding, and technological advancement is ultimately a distraction and unhealthy detour from who we are and who we need to be... who the rest of Consciousness needs us to be

While other Lifeforms have been loyal to their lines, our species has strayed terribly from the script.

The Gazabin is the new Eden, wherein I remember myself.

Is there a script? And isn't the word script a human construct.
Isn't it possible that we're just following our programming like all the other species, the only problems being  that we are able to alter the environment massively and destructively and we can see the destruction our programming is causing and we do not stop it.  Is it possible that our programming to hoard and acquire unceasingly is so hardwired to our ancient survival as hunter-gatherers and primitive agriculture that in the modern world we still can't deviate from it?

I am a fan of evolutionary psychology and I think you hit the nail on the head, Rich. It's all about neurotransmitters to me and our modern society is excellent at triggering many of them to start flowing, for a multitude of reasons, that result in little good for individuals, the species, or the earth.

I am glad to see other primitive oriented people posting in here, where it seemed I am rather isolated here that way. If with any others joined for it I would be growing all the things possible for what is needed for food, medicinal herbs, and materials, with a bit of foraging for any thing yet further needed still, having the least impact on the environments around there possible. This world has enough of the destruction to environments that goes on, but I expect that will come to an end sometime not far off in the future, it really can't be maintained to always continue, but the ways I seek would be possible for doing that. I am an older man though but still really capable for my part in that, I think there are others I should find for this, and to have land found for us to have that, having the sustainable ways needed with subsistence on what we will have growing.
