scion wood sources: your favorites

I'm looking too. I live west of the cascades but east of seattle, anyone have varieties that are regular croppers and store well for my area?

Wow, that list is epic. I see they have acquired some of those khazak apples, though not for sale.

My favorite source would be neighbors - usually free and you end up with stuff that presumably does well locally.

I would guess Rare Fruit Growers would be a great source for unusual stuff... $36/year membership. I am not a member.

my idea was to visit a nursury in late winter with a pair of hand pruners and "help" prune their trees. coupled with a packet of antonovka seeds, you'll get 25 varieties of apple for about 3$

and any apricot, plum, peach and nectarine that is fire blight resistant

If you join NAFEX there are lots of folks that have scionwood for sale there. www.nafex.org $20/year subscription and that includes a great little magazine!
One of my favorites is also Burnt Ridge Nursery and Walden Heights Nursery. Both have good websites too.

OMG, that dude has a lot of scionwood. Dang.

My favorite source for scion wood is old abandoned homesteads, wild trees, and from any tree that is of old age and I get a chance to try the fruit. My best grafted varieties have come from wild trees, followed by old homesteads.
